Ten years on the SouthCoast means we know which intake line actually picks up, who has openings, and which agency has been good to people we love. We do the homework for you.

Community Wellness Centers in all three SouthCoast cities. Outpatient mental health, substance use, peer support.

Sister Rose's House
Emergency shelter for men, 25 beds, staffed 24/7. Case management, kitchen, job training. Overflow capacity when it gets cold.
First Step Inn (Steppingstone)
Primary emergency shelter for Fall River. 20 year-round beds plus 30 cold-weather beds.
PACE Housing Opportunity Center
If you have housing but it is at risk: homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, Emergency Solutions Grant.

Safety planning, emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, hospital advocacy, court advocacy, child trauma therapy, prevention education. Serves all survivors regardless of gender, sexuality, or how recent the harm is.

Network of 50+ youth-serving organizations across Greater New Bedford. The best single map of after-school, mentoring, and youth crisis programs.
Old Colony YMCA
Group home for youth 12-18, emergency residence for females (statewide), therapeutic day services.
Elevate Youth (the Network)
In-house program for LGBTQ+ young people ages 14 to 24. Mentorship, monthly meetups, leadership development.
Both Area Agencies on Aging in the region are openly affirming.
Coastline Elderly Services
Area Agency on Aging for Greater New Bedford. Meals on Wheels, in-home care, protective services, SHINE Medicare counseling.
Bristol Aging and Wellness
Area Agency on Aging for the Fall River region. Network partner. Self-describes as an open and affirming agency.

Federally qualified health center. Primary care, behavioral health, dental, WIC. Dr. Laurel Miller Center for HIV care. Most LGBTQ-affirming clinical care on the SouthCoast. Clinicians experienced in PrEP and transgender health.
HealthFirst Family Care Center
FQHC. Medical and dental care for children and adults regardless of ability to pay.
Southcoast Health
Three-hospital regional system (St. Luke's, Charlton Memorial, Tobey). Largest care provider in the region.

Greater New Bedford Community Health Center
Most LGBTQ-affirming primary care located on the SouthCoast. Clinicians do PrEP and transgender health every week.
Fenway Health
LGBTQ+ specialty health center in Boston. Telehealth available for MA residents if you can't find what you need locally.
GLAD Law
LGBTQ legal information and lawyer referrals. ID Project for name and gender marker updates. Free.
