Inclusion
Every LGBTQ+ person deserves to feel at home in their community, regardless of race, age, ability, or identity.
A community-led LGBTQ+ Network serving New Bedford, Fall River, Taunton, and the South Coast of Massachusetts. Founded 2014. 501(c)(3).
Every day we strive to build and maintain a comprehensive support network for LGBTQ+ individuals and families across the age spectrum by working with governmental, community-based organizations, and private entities to eliminate homophobia; creating intergenerational opportunities; assessing programming needs for safety and well-being; ensuring respect and dignity; and providing collaborative organizational space.
The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network
Every LGBTQ+ person deserves to feel at home in their community, regardless of race, age, ability, or identity.
We show up for each other in hard moments and easy ones. The work doesn't stop when the headlines do.
Queer joy is not a reward. It's the point. We celebrate loud, often, and on our own terms.

The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network was founded in 2014 by seven LGBTQ+ community agencies and the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts. The need was simple. Queer people in New Bedford, Fall River, Taunton, and the surrounding towns deserved the same access to community, advocacy, and joy that bigger cities took for granted. So a coalition built it here.
A decade later, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the SouthCoast year-round through programs, partnerships, and events that meet people where they are. EIN 82-2601799. Charity Navigator 4-star rated.
Just a few moments from the years between then and now.
A former homeless shelter in New Bedford is being renovated into the SouthCoast's first dedicated LGBTQ+ community center. Eight hundred thousand dollars to finish the build. Every gift gets us closer.
Executive leadership, staff, and the board of directors who keep the Network running. Plus the community members we honor.
