SOUTH COAST PRIDE 2022

Pride 2022 was a month of firsts. For the first time in two years, Pride returned to Buttonwood Park in New Bedford on June 4 with all kinds of fun activities for the whole family! Fall River Pride on June 5 entertained with its usual mix of energy and activities for everyone to enjoy. And Taunton Pride debuted on June 11 with music, dancing, food, drag performances, games, vendors, and more! Thousands of people stopped by to see how beautifully diverse the South Coast is, with support from more than 120 community partners. See you again in 2023!

presenting the first-ever taunton pride festival

You won't find a more active or passionate LGBTQ+ community than the one in Taunton, Massachusetts. This year, they're putting all their energy into creating a very special Pride Festival - their first-ever! - on June 11, from noon-5 pm, at Hopewell Park. Join us for this special day full of family fun to celebrate love and togetherness for everyone.

"Out in the wilde... and then some."

An evening of cocktails, hors-d’oeuvres, and dinner at Round the Bend Farm in Dartmouth, Mass., with a performance by local creative group The Performing Arts Collective, sets a creative and joyful tone for Pride 2022. Tickets are $200. All proceeds benefit the building of the future South Coast LGBTQ+ Community Center. June 3 at 6:30 pm

kaleidoscope: art through your eyes

"Kaleidoscope: Art Through Your Eyes" is a collaboration between The South Coast LGTBQ+ Network and Gallery X of New Bedford where people can view and purchase artwork from some of the South Coast's most talented artists. Through June 19.

pride film series

The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network is pleased to sponsor Cinema New Bedford’s presentation of “Ship of Hearts” at the Zeiterion, a series that speaks to the heart of relationships, friendships, and allyships within the LGTBQ+ community. Featured films include Love Simon, Flee, Framing Agnes, and Book Smart. Films will run throughout Pride Month. More details to follow!​

Yogaguru Vineeta returns to provide an invigorating hour of yoga instruction to help you get in the right frame of mind and body for all your Pride activities. At Vineeta's studio in New Bedford during Pride Month.

Wellness walk

What better way to celebrate the first weekend of Pride this summer than with an invigorating walk around Buttonwood Park with Dr. Michael Rocha of the New Bedford Wellness Initiative and Nurse Practitioner Brian Coast of the GNBCHC? June 4 at 9 am.

PRIDE YoGA with jeff

Jeff Costa from Sangha Studio in New Bedford helps open Pride 2022 in Buttonwood with an hour of mindfulness, meditation, yoga... and togetherness. June 4 at 10 am.

The Network joins the South Coast 20mi2 initiative with a day of events for older LGBTQ+ individuals and LGBTQ+ youth and families, capped by a business pitch competition for aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by EforAll. All day June 10.

A special Pride service at Taunton’s beautiful, 110-year-old synagogue, the Congregation Agudath Achim, to celebrate a LBGTQ+ community of friends and family. Kiddush to follow services with traditional challah, coffee, and pastries. Coming June 17. 

reflections on faith

One often-neglected subject of crucial importance to the LGBTQ+ community is the subject of spirituality. In the Reflections on Faith series, Andy Pollock, president of The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network, asks the leaders of area houses of worships for their perspectives.​ Coming June 19. 

pride surf camp

Part of our Elevate LGBTQ+ Youth series, this four-day camp from Gnome Surf, hosted by renowned surf therapist Chris Antao, aims to build LGBTQ+ youth’s confidence in an atmosphere of kindness and sharing.

AHA! Pride block party

The folks at AHA! New Bedford always throw a great block party during Pride. Join them and all your friends at Custom House Square on Thursday, June 9, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
